NagVis is a visualization addon for the well known network managment system Nagios.
NagVis can be used to visualize Nagios Data, e.g. to display IT processes like a mail system or a network infrastructure.
Set real maximum Bandwidth instead of Interface BW
Hey,
i have the problem, that the maximal interface bandwidth is not in all cases the real bandwidth.
For Example:
Interface has 100Mbit, but the max. real Throughput is 10Mbit.
So the Map would show up the Traffic at 10% but in real it's max'd @ 100%.
It would be awesome if we can specify at an item whats the max bw is.
The Oldschool Tool: http://www.network-weathermap.com/ has such a feature - and i would love to use Nagvis if there would be such an Feature :-)

Another solution to your issue is to use a plug in that can change the bandwidth limit for you. There is a plug-in over at the Nagios Exchange that can provide a solution for you. The check_iftraffic64 plug in has support for setting the actual bandwidth limits over an interface and can even support different settings for in and out. For example if you are monitoring a Cable modem Internet connection that provides 50 MB/s down and 10 MB/s up but your measuring on a 100 MB/s interface then you'd do something like this: 'check_iftraffic64.pl -H hostname -C sneaky -B -I 50 -O 10 -u m'.
